A wild boar bursting forth from moonlit thickets. Raising its front legs and bellowing, its form radiates the very momentum of “猪突猛進(rush recklessly).”
Using a dry brush, the artist masterfully recreates the boar’s coarse, bristly fur. By skillfully employing variations in ink density, the body is rendered with a substantial, weighty presence, as if saturated with the night dew.
It is a powerful work, one that seems to fix you with the fierce, wild light in the boar’s eyes.
